Bernd Stangl

As Chief Financial Officer of Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, Bernd Stangl is accountable for company finances, internal auditing, office management, and the legal organisation. Bernd leads ALE’s financial strategy with an agile and digitalized approach.

He is an energetic trilingual with experience in long-term construction, the shipping industry, telecommunications, and more recently deploying subscription models for SaaS and the cloud.

Since joining the company in 2015, he has transformed the finance and legal teams of ALE into a highly efficient organisation recognized in the industry as a benchmark on digital transformation.

Bernd has been a guest speaker in many financial summits and was nominated as one of the most impactful CFOs in France in 2021. In 2022, he has been awarded two Gold Medal for 2022 on CFO Software and CFO transformation by Leaders Leagues 12ths Edition summit in France, and is the International Finance leader of the Year 2022 – by GenCFO World Finance Forum.

Bernd has a personal ambition to create greener and paperless office environments. He has strongly promoted virtual collaboration around the globe long before work-from-home became a health requirement.

Prior to joining ALE, Bernd was the CFO of ASN Submarine -which is world leader in transoceanic optical internet cables -  and the general project manager for large transoceanic projects. Before, he was CFO position of the 2bn$ Optics Division of Alcatel-Lucent (now Nokia) in Milan and held several finance positions in Headquarters and in Vienna. 

He holds an MBA from the Vienna University of Economics in Strategic Management and International Commerce. His master thesis on international project management was worked in cooperation with MIT in Boston. Bernd also holds post-graduate management certificates from INSEAD on Corporate Finance and Advanced Negotiations.
